Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is directed and written by Michael J. Bassett and a sequel to the horror film Silent Hill. Revelation 3D and it predecessor is based on the survival horror video game Silent Hill 3 by Konami. stars Adelaide Clemens, Kit Harington, Deborah Kara Unger, Martin Donovan, Malcolm McDowell, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Sean Bean.

When I saw this film, there weren't to many in the theater, when word of mouth gets out I doubt that many theaters showing this film will be full. It is ambitiously high on style but when it comes to substance it is more or less an emotionless mellowdrama with brief flashes of the macabre haphazardly thrown in every now and then for shock value.
The alternate reality sets and visual effects of Silent Hill were reminiscent of the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise. The 3D effect added very little to the movie. The writer/director has also sporadically incorporated some profanity including a spattering of 'F's, which do nothing to further the plot or improve the film in any way.
There is very little suspense, nothing really to raise some goosebumps, not much even in the way of cheap 'gotcha' scariness. This film has the feel of watching a video game without having access to the joystick. Let's see...'No joy' just might be a fairly accurate description of this film.
